"Is any among you sick?  Let him call for the elders of the Church and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord" (James 5:14-15). 

 

Anointing of the Sick is the sacrament by which those who are ill receive a blessing and anointing with oil.  This is to strengthen them and help them find healing of mind and heart.
